I'm restoring a 67 mustang, but the orignal owner had put in an aftermarket a/c that pretty much just takes up space. Unfortunately the mounting that the a/c pully is on, is behind the belt... if I take the mounting out, will it mess up the belt at all?! should I put a spacer in between there? Help me out... right now the engine is just chillin' with the a/c mount in place.

Not real clear on what you're asking about. I think you are asking if you throw the pully alignment out will it chew up the belt. Answer is yes. If you remove a part that is currently used to maintain alignment of belt pulleys, you must replace it with something of equal depth.
