Just an update to my situation. I was able to get the broken part of the dipstick tube out of the timing chain cover. My mood has really improved too :) All i did was take a really coarse threaded screw and screw it into the hole, clamped on some vice grips to the end of the screw and tapped it out with a hammer. First fire up of the rebuilt engine should happen next weekend. Thanks to everyone who offered their advice on how to solve my last problem.

Glad it turned out so well..I was afraid it was going to turn into one of those 4 day tasks
