I do have access to a hoist and was leaning towards an intake plate. As much as I don’t want to take the intake off, it seems like having it out of the way for test fitting would be the best way to avoid breaking anything. Thanks!
I didn't want to pull my intake so went with the corner attachments. There was more than one time I almost broke down and ordered intake plate.
One thing I did do was took old piece of leaf spring and make a smaller, thinner version of the rear passenger attachment. Then I left it in place. I realized it was so tight I was going to have to use a really short bolt to enable me to remove it after installing the engine. And of course, there was the concern if I ever have to pull it back out. the plate kind of disappears in back but is there if I need it.

Also had my motor mounts and a driver side header come in. As for the header, it appears to be smaller diameter tubing than the one that came on the crate engine so I'm not sure I will be able to use is. More on that later.

I had some concerns about the header sizes myself but I measured and it appeared to be just material and construction. Checked with a couple of Ford distributors and it appears they were built to same basic specs, just changed manufacturers. To get the newest manufacturer, you have to buy the one with the catalytic attached. On the passenger side, old and new had to same part number. I was going to run the old simply for visual, not that you can really see anything once it is in there.

I could use a Volvo pump out of a yard. That crossed my mind too, but I haven't seen anyone do it to know what its like.
A friend did it with a Coyote swap in an F100 and seems to like it. He is @restostangs on Instagram

Thanks! I’ll look through his page. I think I actually follow him. You think I should go to the trouble? You’re using the VA and your install looks pretty nice. At this point and even before, I knew I’d need to balance money with time. I’m an impatient person with somewhat limited time (2 teen daughters) and want a high quality product. I drool over you build all the time and am constantly looking though your thread.
I believe it would be a viable option but I haven't actually driven the truck so hard for me to say good or bad. He has the pump mounted up under the fender and there is just a little sound from it when you turn the power on but you can't here it at all once he lights the fuse on the Coyote.
I'm sure he would give you his thoughts on it, functional and budget wise. I need to get over to his place and return his Coyote lift plates and check out his twister build so I will see what he thinks now that he has lived with it for a year.

So, I was at my friends shop Saturday and I asked him about the Volvo pump and steering. He really likes it, says the road feel is great. In fact, he had just picked up a new project, a 63 F100, and intends to use same setup in this one. He got a steal on the truck, someone had already done a very, very nice job of installing a Crown Vic front end and new floor pan and then got bored with the project. Got it for way under 2K. Picked up a Coyote F150 for a decent price and will be dropping it in there.
Also has an 86 (?) F150 and complete Crown Vic he will be combining soon.
Almost done with his Mustang Twister.

Uh-huh. Sounds like me when I told you I didn't feel like welding in the cowl reinforcement for my strut tower brace.
"You're already there. May as well go ahead and do it"
I was so paranoid on doing mine, I even set the fenders and hood in place just to double check my alignment before I actually started welding.

I just used the old holes in the windshield pinch area and the extensions to the aprons to try to put it back where it was. I will let you know how that worked out in a couple months.
I'm sure it will work out great. I also used those alignment holes but being I was in such uncharted territory for myself, I was taking a lot of unnecessary steps to doublecheck myself. Still do...one of the reasons I make such slow progress..ha ha

Got my AC condenser installed and my front end on except the hood. Working on a way to keep heat off of the wiring harness and brake lines. It’s pretty tight. Ordered some sleeving and hopefully it works so I don’t have to wrap my headers. I also heard getting them ceramic coated would help? Anybody know if that’s true?
They tested ceramic headers on an episode of Engine Masters. There was definitely a difference in heat distribution. Less in engine area and more out the tail pipe so worth it there. They did find out though that there was no change in actual engine performance...engine didn't care.

So, I have been driving the car around a bit (50 miles). The car didn’t stop as well as I wanted, so I put some ebc pads on it. They don’t feel any better yet but they’re not bedded in and the break in coating is still there. View attachment 887583
I also added spacers to the front for 2 reasons. Increased turning radius and to see how wide I can get away with in case my next suspension has a wider track width. They’re 20mm.
Today I replaced my leaking ps reservoir (cracked from summit and jb welded) with the replacement they sent and I’m now waiting on 5/8” fuel line to replace the heater hose I used from the reservoir to the pump. It couldn’t handle the fluid, swelled up and was bleeding through. I also bypassed the cooler in my radiator I was using as a ps cooler. It was more of a heater than a cooler. Something I didn’t think through. Why I thought having the ps fluid the same temp as the coolant was a good idea is beyond me. Couldn’t touch the reservoir it was so hot.
OK, you probably detailed the wheels in a post 20 pages ago but tell me about them? Have you compared their looks to the Bullitts on the 2000 era cars?
I have found that the 17x8 with 45mm offset are perfect for the front of my build but no one makes one with that offset. Sooo...I am considering ordering some 17x9s for the rear and possibly having all four refinished to match. Those actually look like they would be a good match spoke and rim wise, to my fronts.
