It’s doesn’t have the machined area to capture the rod but my rod can’t fall out.
I can't get life insurance anymore so I went with the 88 Ranger manual brake MS and made the rod adjustable.;) Chances are probably one in a billion that the not captured PB rod would ever fall out.

Thanks. I’m a native, but the older I get the more difficult it is.
Isn’t that the truth.. We ended up in TX over 20 years ago. I loved the heat and no issues working in it etc. Now I need a garden hose shoved down my throat full bore just to keep as much water going in as I’m sweeting out.. We actually had a 10 minute rain shower this afternoon. A short break from the 100+ we have had for over a week or two.

Stay cool!

PS - grinding with sweet soaked welding gloves can garnish you a pretty good shock. ⚡

Trust me, I've got a few years on you and it doesn't get better. I will say that I don't miss living with 90% humidity. At least here, I can stay the hell out of the sun and it's somewhat tolerable.

Took a few hours today and cleaned up the shock tower openings, fabbed a pcm mount, and started the radiator support. I’m sure my neighbors think it’s hilarious that I’m forming metal parts on my brick flower bed in front of my house. I need to find somewhere to put a vice. No actual finish work yet, but got a little closer today.

The mount bracket is only 18ga steel and the pcm is solid as a rock. Fairly simple solution but I need to make a guard in the wheel well to stop things hitting it coming off the tire. Now to figure out where to put the fuse/relay box.

Yesterday I got the cowl trimmed up to verify that it fit. Once I verified that, I cut all the brackets off of it that are for the 67-68. I also modified an existing bracket to hang my AC evaporator from. Since the vents get capped with the VA setup I also decided to weld those shut. Still have some cleaning up to do but its hot in Az and I ran out of steam.

Got the tower panels drilled and fitted up today with weld in nut plates welded into the inner fenders from welderseries. Also started the radiator support.

I'm curious as to why you'd want the shock tower filler panels removable. Header install? Seems like that would be an area where you could gain some chassis stiffening back by welding the panels in. Regardless, the work looks great and the removable radiator support is smart. Can you share a pic of the back side of those fasteners?

I made them removable to help with headers, starter, wiring, steering, but mostly alignment. It was a huge pain to adjust the upper control arms even with the sbf.

For strength I am adding 1.5" DOM under the fenders a bit like MTFs' kit. I am also hoping I have room between the hood and engine to add some lugs where the shock towers used to be and triangulate to the cowl.

Here are the fasteners:

Yesterday I modified the ford racing engine stand to mount to the engine with the bellhousing, starter and motor mounts installed. I also started working on putting fittings together to have oil pressure, oil temp and water temp sender on the engine.
