Does anyone know if any of the tire companies still make just plain whitewalls? They look good on my 66 and I want to keep them that way.

Someone at the club meeting last night mentioned that tire manufacturers are getting away from white letter tires. Apparently he was looking for some, finding it difficult, and spoke to a couple companies, and that's what he was told.

True. My daily car is now a Subaru Outback. These cars came standard with RWOL tires for years. Coupla years ago my low-mileage car was coming up to needing replacements. I scoured the planet for new ROWL tires. Nothing. Not new. Not NOS. Heck, I even looked into used tires. Nothing. After making millions of these tires for a decade, Planet Earth no longer produces a 225/60R16 ROWL tire.

Anyone ever use tire lettering stickers ? Sounds good if as advertised . I may try this next spring unless I hear a lot of negative comments .

The tire sticker deal is a neat idea, but I don't think it is quite there yet as far as durability goes. Here's another discussion about them. They can look sharp, but don't seem to hold up from what I have seen. If the car is a weekend cruiser they may last a long time though, but I don't think they'll last long on a car that is driven often.
