I started restoration this weekend. Got the whole front end stripped, all but the engine. Much to my delight there is no rust. The car came from Oklahoma, so there's plenty of sand behind the fenders. The left fender was a 1966 quality control history lesson. The 'hidden' nut that you have to get from inside the car was missing. Well not actually, it did fall out from somewhere when I removed the fender. Also, the two bolts that are inside the wheel well at the front of the car were not installed. In fact there was nothing to bolt them to. The little 'L' bracket that should be welded to the innner fender apron was nowhere to be found. There was a noticible squeek on that side of the car. I wonder if I found the cause.

Jim,

How about putting up some pics every now and then so we can follow the resto.

I'm taking lots of pics, but I don't have a digital camera. I have a very good scanner that will do the trick after I get through a full roll.

thanks
