of yous that responded...
I appreciate it...honest.
anyways ...I called deltamustang parts to ask about a rebuild kit..and he said that they have a thing going with a guy that rebuilds em.. and it'll cost me around 600.00..with me bringing the tranny to them...he said i just missed a c-4....sold it the other day..
i called a couple of junkyards and ..one said to call in the morning and the neighboer is going to a u pull it plasce tommorow...and i'm gonna tag along with him...
they have a 30 day return policy.....]
so...my options are looking better...
but now i'm stuck on whether to go with the sure thing..for 600.00...or go with a pulled one [if they have any...i dunno...it seems that there isa lack of mustang parts at the local junkyards ...maybe because there is no smog on them here...[i see a lot more on the road these days]
well anyways i'm not gonna do it myself...
i thought aboutr ity.....but one small error...don't wanna do that..
the cheapest i found was aamco...for about 1050.00
he said bring it in tommorrow morning..and i'd have it by friday afternoon...
gee..sounds like the earl scheib of trannys...
i'll let ya's know whots up with the future of my pony..
i drained the tranny fluid...and boy..was it dark...
thanks again.....
now i hafta get my butt going to pull the tranny out...
later..
john..

Of course your budget always plays an important role /forums/images/icons/smile.gif, but you'll probably get a much better waranty with that $600 rebuild ... and odds are you won't need it. I'd be inclined to pony of the $, and get it done once, and have it done with for a long time.

That $600 sounds much more reasonable than that $1300 price tag you were previously quoted.

Do you live in N. California? I just ask because Delta Bay is in
Brentwood, I live in Concord.

Crockett....but it wasn;t always like this..i lived in Martinez for a long time..
have you dealt with delta mustang before?
i have a couple times..he seems reasonable and honest.

the place in Concord is kinda on the high side..
not too many mustang shops..considering the population..and the number of stangs floating around..

however..the only good thing about living here is that there is a 66 convertible....red...looks newer then new...
i'm not a thief..but the day i saw it....i was almost tempted to climb in.....and just head into the sunset..
it's a weekender car...mine is my ride...oh well...
