The infamous VMF Doofus Trophy was built by Dickson in a "Junkyard Wars" fit, and brought out to Pensacola, and provided (not presented, thank God!) to me. Our thoughts were that the award would be packed up and shipped to the next Doofus winner, who then has the responsibility of shipping it on to the next person.

Well, that's somewhat cumbersome...but instead, we should insist that the winner must put it into his signature line until it gets passed to the next winner. What do you think?

I think it's an outstanding piece of work which should always be in the possession of one who truly deserves it! *G*

Hats off to Dickson for his creative genius.

Mailing that monster would have been a little tough. So, who will be the first to get a new sig photo? Hmmmm, John Boggs has some repairs coming up, my money's on him!

In the interest of safety, I don't think that we should be advertising how the doofus award can be obtained. Afterall, it is a thing of shame. Secondly, we would have people like Midlife, Boogins, Hoosierbuddy and Shanman 'duking it out' for the award. REMEMBER, IT'S A SHAME THING, AND DON'T HURT YOURSELF!!!

The signature line idea would make the trophy a truly international prize, available to all the overseas VMF'ers,so I think the forwarding idea is better.Who's going to pack it up & send it to Australia!!We don't want it here....you guy's look after it!"G".
BTY it's a fine trophy,& i would be proud to display it in my shed.I've earned it many times,it's just that not many people find out how!

Wow that thing is actually real? I thought it was a good bit of photoshop work. I guess working in advertising can really warp your perception of reality.

It's been awarded to me too many times*LOL*.

Fortunately, I don't think I'm the current holder, but with the '65 totally dismantled in the driveway, I'm sure it's not IF I get it, it's WHEN I get it /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Nice job on the trophy, dickson ... Dickson ROCKS again *LOL*!

I am not one who ask many questions, but I read all to get the information from all you wise ones, but I felt I need to let yall know that I have spent the last half hour on the floor laughing so hard my better half thought something was wrong with me. Great job Dickson and hope no one get hurt to bad by getting this reward!

Thanks.

Good idea on putting it in the sig. Unless someone does something dumb that kills him, It could be given post humeously and be used as a grave marker.
