Pretty loud ticking going on under what sounds like both valve covers. Valves haven't been adjusted since rebuild-assuming that's the problem, how to fix?

Thanks.

Hydraulic - tighten rocker nut down SLOWLY - while the engine is running - until the noise just goes away. This shouldn't be more than one-half turn - one full turn max. You preset the valve lash on hydraulic lifters during assembly (1/2 to 3/4 turn after zero lash at the cam lobe minimum). This means the valve cover is off while the adjustment is going on; the PO for my car kindly created a big hole, removing the top of a spare valve cover, so I could catch the majority of oil splashing in the rocker area.

Solid - recheck the valve lash gap with the engine not running, using the specs per your cam or the Shop Manual.
