Hi guys...anybody know what the torque specification for the outer tierod ends on a 1970? My car is a 68, but converted to disc brakes and now use a 70 spindle. The 70' spindle is beefier and so is the tie rod end. I would think the torque spec would be higher than the 68 as the tierod is much beefier too!

did a search already and did not see anything. My repair manual does not even cover this.

thanks in advance.

Which book are you looking at? I have a 69 car shop manual. Page 03-13-04 there's a table with torque specs for the steering linkage. For a 69 it says 30 to 40 ft-lbs. then tighten nut to nearest cotter pin slot and install pin. Hope this helps some. I know you're looking for 70 info. Regards.
