Okay, so I've settled on an Edelbrock timing chain. As I'm looking at Edelbrocks web site, I notice that there are several timing chains, dependent on year.

I have a '66 model year car (It's a 289, BTW), but of course it was built in July of '65. The engine itself was built in May of '65.

Can someone tell me the cutoff date for whatever it is that dictates one timing chain or another? Bonus points for telling me what it is that's actually different.

Thanks in advance!

Never mind, I took a stab at it. We'll see if it fits.

We were comparing a roller setup I removed from a late model 5.0 crate engine and Comp cams roller for a 1966 289. They looked almost exactly alike. You should be fine.
