1965 and 66 don’t have a rag joint. Those came on late 67 and up mustangs.

Also if fluid is leaking on the shaft it needs rebuilt. As for the nut I believe the end of the shaft is square so you can use a wrench to hold it while you loosen the nut.

One other thing I noticed is someone did the Shelby drop on your upper control arms.
