I am researching the use of Toyo road racing radials on my '65 coupe. The rims I want to use are 15x7 Torq Thrust D. The tire size is P215/60ZR15 (backspace = 3.75"). Will these fit with little/no trimming of my bodywork?

BTW: Toyo has a program where you can request sponsorship for tires. After some digging I found six (6) un-used tires (see size above) that have been sitting in my local Toyo dealers warehouse and he wants to give them to me
for $50/each. Keep looking guys and gals, there are still deals to be had.

Race tire sizing is a bit funny. I use a set of BFG R-1's in 225/50-15's. If I compare the same size Hoosier, Pirelli, Yoka, etc.. they are all diiferent in sidewall height, thread patch and diameter. You need to compare the manufacturer spec's to the spec's of a standard passenger car tire (that adheres to tire sizing rules).

Good luck and have fun. Bob.

Mark,

I run BFGs in 215/60 on those exact wheels. My lips are rolled (ouch), but I think you could get by without it.
Have you given thought to going larger on the back?
