Long story short is I thought this was just an open carrier mixed in with the other parts I had inherited from the father in law after he passed away.

It’s some kind of gear locker that goes inside an open carrier. In one picture you can see a part is broken. My guess is it’s from the late 70’s early 80’s when he use to race.

Im hoping someone can identify it and then hope I can get the broken piece replaced. I have two used gear sets I could set up with. 4.44 and a 4.56. I think it was 4.44 for the one set. Again these are old as well.

Had I known I had this I would not have bought the Detroit locker I now have. Lol

Looks like your typical Eaton-Detroit Locker.

Well I had never seen one in person plus it was and still is covered it dirt and grim on the outside. I guess this would explain why I did not see a cross shaft when I was first looking at it. Time to shop for the broken part and clean it up.
