Alright guys which one of you wants to educate me this time lol. Recently my sister and brother in law were down here for a visit and my brother in law and I got to talking Mustangs, he owns a '67 fastback. Anyways he was asking me if I was going to keep the C4 tranny or swap it for a C6, so I have two questions what are the adavantages/disadvantages of either one and how hard is it to swap one for the other?

Advantages of C4:
Wide availabiltiy of aftermarket parts.
Very durable tranny
Very lightweight (as automatics go, anyway).

Advantages of a C6:
if you have a MONSTER of a motor, you won't break the C4.

Disadvantages of a C6:
Very few aftermarket parts available
VERY heavy boat anchor.
Only used for trucks and FE's because it robs too much HP from everything for it to be any good behind anything else.

Keep the C4.

I took the C-6 out of my drad car & put in a C-4. No more broken trannies! I make close to 1100 I'll type it again 1100 HP on the dyno. I like my C-4 & I'll never go back!
