Here's the before/after of my replacement transmission. Unfortunately due to work trips, I won't be able to THINK of installing it until late August :( :(

A tip: When working on a tranny that you've dribbled oil on the gears so oxidation doesn't set it, DON'T tip it upside down. Oil likes to get all over a new paint job :p

OK...I'm sold, I'm having the C4 rebuilt and I will take them several cans of my engine paint to hose it down...I think they just normally paint 'em silver...ugh...

Yep, just a cast iron case. After a rust-removing wheel and naval jelly, it was still a multi-hue brown mess. Along comes rust-eating primer and Duplicolor Ford Blue. As I said in a previous post, it looks so good, Ford should have done this to begin with!
