Had a major leak on transmission and flattened the pan lip several times and tried a cork gasket and a rubber gasket and continued to leak. Finally figure out it was coming from the dipstick tube itself where it went into the case. The tube has a slight bend in it and I am assuming that is what is causing the leak. I ordered a new dipstick and tube and when it came in it was a different length tube and dipstick. The dipstick fill line stuck way further in the pan then the original. Does anyone have a suggestion on what a good replacement fill tube and dipstick would be? It is a 1968 289 with a C-4 transmission the tube mounts in the transmission case.

Have you tried just replacing the o-ring on the original tube?
I thought about that but the end where it goes into the transmission case has a bend in it and I don't think it will seal even with a new o-ring.
