Non 'stang question, but a Ford product still. Coming home tonight, about 15 miles from work, the xmsn droped out of OD, and high rev for about 20 seconds.Been doing this now for a while,so I've started watching the conditions around the time this happens. The temp outside is in the low 60s so it is cool, hasn't done it on the way to work when the temp is in the 70s or higher, however it has done it when it is cool and raining, here's the question, is this the xmsn, the computor or could I have a sensor going bad? This is a '94 F150 5.0l with an EOD xmsn, with 179k miles on it. TIA for any help and ideals on the problem.

Does it slip out of other gears? One of the bands might be backing out on ya. I'd suggest taking it to an Aamco or alocal tranny shop just in case. Transmission problems are things that should be addressed immediately, as Iv'e learned from destroying many a 5-speed AOD.
