HEY GUYS, I AM COLECTING PARTS FOR CONVERTING MY 73MACH1 FROM A C4 TO A T5 . I WAS ABLE TO GET A T5 FROM A 90 MODEL MUSTANG. IT WILL COME WITH THE FACTORY BELLHOUSING FOR A 302. MY CAR HAS A 351 C
IN IT. WILL THE BELLHOUSING FIT MY ENGINE? IF IT WILL WHAT FLYWHEEL WOULD I NEED TO USE.

If you are using the stock T5 bellhousing, the biggest flywheel you can fit in there is the 157 tooth. I bought a McCleod steel billet flywheel 157tooth (28 oz imbalance) that is capable of bolting on a 10.5 inch clutch. Your other alternative is to use your flywheel, your bellhousing and an adapter available from several places.....

I think the t5 bellhousing needs to be modified to work with the 71-73 clutch linkage. I have not seen anything to convert a 71-73 Mustang to the cable linkage for late model Mustangs, though that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Good luck! Having an overdrive tranny will be awesome.
