Hello I have 1970 mustang whit no engine and no trans.
but I have a 1980 302 from a truck and the 4 sp overdrive trans.
The block numbers are E0AE D3C
The trans ratios are : 1gear 3.25:1 , 2 gear 1.92:1 , 3 gear 1:1 , 4 gear 0.79:1

Any sugestions or warning ?
The truck engine is the same as the passenger engine?

thanks

The trucks usually used a little beefier con rods. The 4 spd o.d. should be o.k., I have one too in my shed I took out of a 77 E150 that I junked. You might have to Mickey Mouse with the shifter location.

IMHO, keep looking. the '80 302 has low compression and not so great heads. The SROD overdrive trans is basically a 3 speed with overdrive 4th. It's a loooong way from 1st to 2nd, and the OD with any axle ratio this side of 3.25:1 will leave you shifting up and down and up and down at any speed under 70. I'd see if I could score the 5.0 and 5 speed from a wrecked late model, I think it would pay off in driveability.
