I have 3.55 truetrac 8 inch rear end and the first 100mls it did make some noise. Guess the gears have to break in.

Did your test drive include a hard take off with one wheel on pavement and the other on dirt or gravel? Or was it making the noise from the beginning? Should avoid this scenario until you have some mileage on it. Mine has never made any grinding noises.

I dont think that most people know that you have to break in the rear end without burnouts for the first 100 miles or so unless you had the gears polished. Or something like that.
