Can anyone tell me where I can obtain a trunk tension rod bracket for a 65 fastback? It's the "U" shaped bracket that attaches to the trunk lid and holds the tension rod in place. I understand it's not being repopped and have struck out trying to locate one. Any help would be kindly appreciated.

I ran into the same problem with my resto. Luckily, I tracked mine down later.

Be aware that if you use a new/repro trunklid that the bracket holes are too large. I ended up pop riveting mine on....

When I did find my old one, I used it as the pattern to fab a few for some pals with fastback restos going on. It was pretty easy. Also, the rubber insulator can be made out of short length of rubber fuel line - 3/8" IIRC - that you split and slip on.....

Send a PM to "mrgem" - I know I sent him one of the ones I made. I don't know if he ever found his original, but if so perhaps he could be persuaded to part with the one I made.

Good luck - Dickson
