Saw a pic on the S code forum of a hinge set with a "scroll" type coiled spring on each hinge, not tension rods. Were these used on Mustangs?

Post indicated possible '67 or '68 use, never seen 'em before...???

I know they are used on 69 models fastbacks, mine doesn't have tension rods, maybe to clear the fold down seat??

Are they strong enough to use on a coupe/convertible?

My early '67 fastback(November '66, San Jose car)has the tension rods. My understanding is that the tension rods were used until late '67 at which time the spring coils were used.

I believe 67 could have tension rods on fastbacks too. My late 67 has the coils.
