There are a couple of ways to go. My '65 has the battery and starter sol. in the trunk.
The big fat cable running to the front is only hot while the starter is getting juice. I never
liked the idea of having the cable coming from the trunk hot all the time.
If you must, you can put the cable in a metal sheath. The flexible metal conduit that
house electricians use makes a great protective cover for your batt. cable.
Moving the sol. into the trunk is easy. Run the two small wires from the front for the
sol. and a larger wire for the acc. which is the same large wire that goes to the alt.
Use a fuse link for the acc. wire. Use a regular batt. cable from the batt. to the sol.
and the big fat cable goes from the sol. to the starter. Really cleans up the engine
compartment too.
