Don't have the manual for my 69' yet. Does anyone have the proper point gap, dwell, and timing specs for a 69', 302, 2 barrel carb motor? I would greatly appreciate it so I can put a quick tune on this thing in the morning. TIA

Timing should be set at 6 degrees with vacuum line unhooked. Dwell angle is 24-29 and point gap is 0.021". This was taken right out of factory shop manual. Good Luck

timing 6 degrees BTDC 650 idle for
manual, 550 for auto in drive

Ford Peformance by Bill Carroll lists dwell as .032-.036.

Don't just go by the shop manual for timing and idle. Tinker with it. 6 degrees was set for a newer vehicle with a different octane fuel. then again, your running a 2 barrel, so performance probably isnt a concern. 6 degrees should be good enough to make the car run. Just dont expect it to be optimal. Use the gap and dwell from the book though, and DARNIT boy, get your self a shop manual!!!..... and a 4 barrel /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Good luck. If you need any more help with tuning don't be afraid to ask.
