Arrggghh!
In the middle of doing all this, my Duraspark box crapped out on me. Okay, I replaced it at Autozoo, now it's firing up again.
I got the idle much better now, but at times it just starts wanting to die out. Also, now it won't rev up past 2500, starts popping/sputtering. I'm getting an exhaust system Monday, I've been doing all this with open headers (so I don't hear SWMBO yelling at me, LOL)
So.......1.could the open headers be giving me grief enough that I should delay my efforts until I have an exhaust?

Tank, pump, filter, and gas line are new, MSD coil and dura box are new, coils in the dizzy check out okay, I don't know if my problem is fuel or ignition, or #1 above?
Any thoughts?

Sounds like timing to me too. Trade in that Durabark for a MSD 6AL; it's worth every penny. Double check your firing order.

yeap MSD6AL is worth its weight in gold (sort of)

timing is the culprit and after you get timing down get your mixture tuned in as well.
