Turn signals wont blink.

I have a 68 Mustang 2DR HARDTOP. The turn signals won't blink. The lights in the dashboard for both turn signals are solid green but won't blink when I use turn them on. Where is the relay located? Previous posts concerning issue give me conflicting info. Some please help me!

both sides or one?
if its one side it can be a bad bulb. check the easy stuff first

the flasher is usually tucked someplace behind or around the radio

there are 2. one for blinkers the other for hazards
Neither side works. All the bulbs work.
I'm a little confused. Are you saying that both of the dash turn indicator lights always on?
Morning and welcome.
Attached are pics from the 1968 Shop Manual.
Turn signal flasher is behind the instrument cluster- but as mentioned above can be reacher from underneath the dash - it’s the little canister attached to the #8 ( orange w/ yellow stripe) and #44(blue) wires.
suggest checking the “4 way hazard“ function also - that s the one connected to #383 and #385 ( red w/ white and white w/ red stripe) wires.

No. Dash indicator lights stay solid green when I use either left or right turn directional, neither blinks.
I was told to check the Blinker Fluid

Dude. Guess you can not take a joke.. wow
There's alot of joking around on this forum. And 99% of the time it isn't a big deal.

It sounds like the flasher is just worn out. Have you tried the hazard lights?
Car has two flasher, normally both located behind instrament cluster. One is for E flashers, other for turn signals. Does E flashers work?
If so that verifies bulb, sockets ok.
You can then switch flasher units. See if problem moves. Perhaps bad t/s flasher if E flasher works.

IIRC back when new Ford used two different rated flasher. E flasher had a higher rating because it was running All the bulbs. But today, E flasher will work in both locations....
Wow.

You didn't happen to replace all the bulbs with LEDs, did you?

That can also affect the ability of the flasher to do it's job. Not enough resistance.

Appreciated the meaningfull/ intelligent replies to my issue, not the wanna be comedian nonsense. Go do a shot of"blinker fluid" with the clowns.🤡
Check that the hazard lights work. They use a separate flasher unit and that can tell you whether it's the flasher or something else.

Make sure the hazard button isn't half pressed in. On the 67/68s that can cause weirdness.

If you've swapped all of your turn signals and tail lights for LEDS you'll need to buy different LED compatible flashers.

The two flashers are rarely wherever the book says they are. My hazard flasher hangs over by the heater controls and I haven't seen the turn signal flasher in years. So you'll have to look around for them. luckily they're usually shiny so they should stand out.

Good luck on this forum. And in life in general.
Sorry some of the light hearted jokes triggered you. Feel free to go find a nice safe space and curl up and cry for a while. It will be ok. Mommy will make it better.

Ty for input sir. Had to remove heater control panel to replace turn signal flasher?

Ty for input sir. I removed heater control panel and replaced turn signal flasher? Issue remains. Electrical schematic shows separate replacement components, one for turn signals, one for hazards. Can't locate a second component under dash. I can get eitherturn signals to flash by moving lever on left side of steering column up and down or... get this?... by pushing the hazard lights control switch in halfway and let off hazard button quickly . Hazard lights won't flash when button pushed all the way in. Vexing issue. Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated sir. I'm unemployed currently and tight on money, can't afford repair shop costs. Thank you for your time.
