Question, I am in the process of removing the carpet, underlayment etc. and it appears that the underlayment under the dash is actually below some of the parts, like the fuse panel etc. Is it typical to have to remove some of the items under the dash to remove the underlayment ? Thanks

Yes, I did my '67 firewall not long ago, I wondered what the order of install on the assembly line was as it appeared some things were installed over the pad and some under? I took it all off since I was going to seal the rust and POR15 the inner firewall then installed sound deadener and a new pad.
