Well, Im about to give up on this one. Started the car ran fine. ran for 5 to 10 minutes. NO SMOKE! I started thinking good thoughts. So I jumped in and drove it around the block which is 1 mile. Pulled back in the drive and the smoke began. Checked the plugs again and 8 was dark. The rest were rust colored. Did a compression check with the eng hot. 8 checked out good. My expert says he thinks it the power valve in the holley carb or rings on # 8? But the smoke looks white/blue and dosent smell like rich fuel to me. So one more time give me your best guess and what my next step should be. He wants $60 for a blow down test. I think he has ripped me off enough. I need to handle the rest my self. Maybe a BIG HAMMER! Or dynamite!

Get the engine to make smoke...

Disconnect the PCV hose and plug the manifold...disconnect the vacuum modulator hose and plug the manifold port (if you have an auto trans)

Hammer it...*G* If you have an auto trans, shifting may be late because of the vacuum modulator being disconnected....it won't hurt anything though...

Engine may run a bit sluggish (rich) with the PCV plugged off but shouldn't smoke from that...

Tell us what you see and smell...
