Here are some new pics of my friends '66 GT-350H replica racecar. Hopes to be finished for upcoming track event at Talladega Grand Prix raceway on July 21.

Nice car! Is he going to let you drive it?

BTW, here's a picture of the 66 GT350H where I work.

Beautiful car!

Clearly, a serious purpose-built race car. Was curious as to what sanctioning body's rules allowed tube-framed (with stock bodies) cars and in what class, though? I'd always assumed that all of the Vintage Racing associations (road racing) required the cars to be essentially configured as they were back when they were new.

Actually, he built it just for non-sanctioned open track events (SAAC, MCA, etc.)- no classes in mind. It started as a $300 rusty hulk. Cut the body off of the unibody sections, then had a guy who runs in the Darlington Dash series to build a frame to fit the body.

Nothing more than a thinly disguised, rebodied Celica! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Seriously, looks like a car with bad intentions, but the reused TRD dash MUST be repainted! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
