I have added a few options to my 65 coupe, fog lights, console, and a rally pac and am wondering if I need something more than the stock alternator. I'm getting confused looking at them with the 1 wire and different amps. available, so any advice is appreciated.

Doesn't sound like you're putting too much extra strain on your stock alternator but they are sort of underpowered to begin with. Upgrading is always a good idea. Look into the 3G alternator off late model fords. You can pull them out of the junkyard for <$60. I think I got mine for like $40 out of a Mercury Sable. One of the cheapest and best upgrades you can make. Check out my wiring thread I just made for this upgrade. Everything you need to know regarding how to wire it should be in there. A lot of knowledgeable people have chimed in.
