I purchased TMI upholstery set for my 1966 Mustang From NPD but can’t believe it’s right. The rear seat bottom is about 8” short of fitting over the spring and cotton of the frame. It can’t stretch that much can it?

I’ve looked at several YouTube videos and all seem to show the upholstery being so much closer to slipping on that it’s a relatively easy to fit over the seat and then stretching to take out the wrinkles.

Can it stretch that much?

It’s hard to say from photos, but is there any way you got a convertible rear seat base cover instead of coupe?

I hadn’t thought about. I assume they are narrower?

Indeed they are. Go googling and look how the seat base on a coupe stretches to meet the interior panel flush with the window crank. Now look at a Vert and notice how, down low, it has that piece with the ash tray that makes the seat narrower.
