Hi,

I'm rebuilding the original UCA I had put away for years as the replacement set I have on the car has the ball joint boot broken and the old style o rings are cracked and leaking grease at the shafts too.

The new UCA shaft kits I got from Moog have a newer larger seals. Instead of a small o-ring the are a larger tall seal. Has anyone installed these? Would you recommend I also groove the shafts to help the grease flow or it's not necessary?

Thanks,

Patrick

I would not groove them in any case. Grease them properly when they are assembled. Probably won't need grease for 50,000 miles. By then the seal will be somewhat worn, or you'll be too old to care.
