Hmmm... maybe I have oil starvation, or something blocked, because after going for a fast run in my 66 289 2V convertible auto this pm at 80mph for about 15 - 20 minutes, I pulled off onto an exit and as as I slowed I heard the distinctive tac-tac-tac of something tappety, which diappeared after a minute or so.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Occasionally, a small piece of carbon will find it's way into a lifter and cause something very similar to what you describe. Nothing to be alarmed at unless you can hear the noise at speed.
I can understand your concern, not to worry, no [color:red]LUCAS</font color=red> parts on a Mustang. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
