Morning..

Recently I had a new set of 4.11 gears installed into my rear by the shop that did my c4 tranny. I had to get a new yoke so I also had the u-joints done up too.

After driving the car for about a week I am noticing a growing vibration from the rear of the car. At first I thought it was the u-joints with a broken pin. I had the u-joints checked out and everything appears to be fine. What I have noticed is that the pinion gear/front of the carrier is moveable up and down.

What would cause this? Would the gears do this or would this be a faulty installation? I'm trying to build up an understanding before I take the car down to the shop and get into words with the owner /forums/images/icons/frown.gif.

oh yeah.. I have about 40-50 miles on the new gears.

Could be wrong pinion bearing preload, bad pinion bearing, or trying to re-use a crush sleeve.
