I'm trying to decide between Vintage 45's, Torque Thrust D's and of course the original Rally Style Wheels.

I've seen the others on classic stangs, but not the Vintage 45's.

Anyone have a photo of them on their stang that you can post here?

Thanks,

Doug

Haven't put them on yet though, no $$$$ for tires! Beautiful wheel though, I like them so much I have one out of the box sitting in my living room..... drives my wife crazy! The upsized styled steels are nice too, but I wanted a more race type look and 16" wheels. You could also get the new Bullitt wheels, although you'd have to run spacers to make'em fit. They sure are cheap at $139 a wheel for 17 inchers.

Are the spokes painted or bare aluminum? What size tires are you running?

Spokes are raw aluminum, with a machined rim. Vintage 45's are 16 x 8 with 4.5" backspace.

I originally ran 225/50-16 front and 225/55-16 rear (with absolutely NO clearance issues), but after I switched to Wilwood front brakes, the fronts would occasionally rub (like going over a curb into a driveway), so I changed to 205/55-16 - which is the same height, but 1/2" narrower. Wilwood brakes move the wheels "out" approx 1/4-3/8 per side.

With stock brakes, 225's WILL fit all the way around on 16x8 wheels, despite what the "wheel fitment charts" say!

BTW, the cool "flat" racing center caps come from Delta Bay Mustang and run about $39 a set.

Those slot mags look too cool on your Stang! That is a classic look. I'd think twice about putting those 45s on. BTW, great photo of your car. Where'd you shoot that at? do you have a bigger one online I can look at?

The slots don't look too bad, they have a 3-bar spinner in the center. They've been on the car since the 70's. I've always wanted a set of torque thrusts though. I'm selling the slots cheap if you or anyone you know is interested. I need some $$$ for 16" tires. Sorry I hope this hasn't turned into a forbidden forsale post.

Damn Geo Trackers! You're quite a ways away from me so shipping the the slots doesn't seem reasonable. I'm in CA and I haven't decided on what kind of rims to run yet anyway. So what did that MC come off of? Does it stop you better than the stock MC?

I haven't finished putting the brakes together yet, I've only gotten as far as fitting in the M/C and ordering some of the other parts. Right now the car is not driveable because it has no brakes. The M/C 1.25 inch bore and it's really huge. I don't know how well it'll stop, but I'll let you know. I can post the part# tommorrow if you're interested.

when you were running the 225s did you have the granada front discs on or did you have the stock drums on?? I have granada fronts on my 66 fastback, i was just wondering what i could get away with, i may have to monkey with the back, i have the rear out of a 97 explorer ( its as wide as a 67 rear)

TIA
