The Heartland Vintage Racing Club out of Kansas City will have some cool racing going on at HPT Aug 19-22. All diff varieties of vintage cars and some big bore muscle cars.

There is a PDX for $100 where you can safely run the 2.5 mile course with one of the race car drivers instructing.

I'm planning on being there Fri-Sun and will be driving the 66 if the weather permits.

Go here for details: Welcome to Heartland Vintage Racing

Anyone interested, please post it here so we can get a head count. If there are enough of us, we can go into the paddock as a club.

Looks like Skip is attending the PDX and then Me, Jeremy, Dan and maybe Skip are going Saturday morning as a group. Anyone else is welcome to join us!

Aaron is never in town and Walter is busy moving back in to KSU.

Thanks for the info about this race. I'll be there on Sunday, anyone else? Looks like it may have rained today but the weekend will be hot and dry.

It was AWESOME!!

I drove the 66 to the track and Skip and Dan came from Kansas City in Skippy's Prius. Got to the track just as the big bore cars were taking the green for their first race.

There were only 5 big bore cars that showed up to this very first vintage event, but it was great nonetheless!!

Tony had his 65 and there was Jeff in his 65-66 Coupe. A Pontiac T/A, a Camaro and the super cool Lola T70 with Ford power previously driven by Dan Gurney.

There were lots of open wheel, MG's, Mini's and Porsche's racing which helped fill the rest of the day.

Tony was a great host and let us hang out out his trailer (compound) and eat his grub. His 65 is a nice ride and it has a screaming engine under the hood.

Here are a few pics.

and finally, this was for sale so we left Jeremy's number on the windshield stating he was interested!!

Here are a few short vid clips I took.
