I'm still working on my pulsating lights. Thought I would try a voltage regulator next. Went to Autozone. When the guy put the box on the counter I said there was no way the regulator would fit in that box. When I opened the box, there was a small version of what I would otherwise call a voltage regulator. The top or cap was only about 3/4" tall instead of the normal ~ 2". I'm presuming this is a solid state regulator. What are the thoughts on this unit? I could easliy drill out the rivets on the cover and install my existing cover to make it look original. How will this unit work compared to the coiled wire? Or do I need to go ahead and get somthing descent?

I did not actually buy the unit. I wanted feedback from the VMF. I'll buy it tonight and try it.
