Looking for a Marv Tonkin Ford Dealer Emblem or License Plate Frame. Preferably from the mid to late 1960s. Wanted for my 1968 Shelby GT350 sold new from Tonkin Ford in December of 1968. Any condition emblem considered. Please PM or e-mail. [email protected] Thank you. Respectfully, Rick

Do you have a picture of it? I'll keep an eye out here. You never know where stuff turns up. I bought a vintage Galpin Motors, Sepulveda CA (My '69 was sold new there) license plate frame in Utah, of all places, and only paid $1 for it. Found it at a swap meet.

Vintage car swap meet out at PIR

I worked at Marv Tonkin Ford from 1975-1985....actually in 1985 it was Courtesy Ford. Marv sold the business because Alan passed away in an accident.

We never used emblems. We used a plastic stick on or a decal type. Also, Marv Tonkin License plate frames.

When Courtesy took over they started to use a metal emblem that required that you drill holes.......:}0

The Vintage car swap meet out at PIR would be the best place to find plate frames.

Hope this helps.

Don

Marv Tonkin Anything

I would be interested if anyone finds Marv Tonkin Ford License Plate Frames or Dealer Stickes/Badges.

I own a '69 Galaxie 500 Coupe that my Grandparents bought there new. It would be great to put a Marv Tonkin touch on "Buster"... Bill

As was mentioned earlier in the thread, the Portland swap meet at the Expo Center and PIR held in May would be your best bet for these. Saw a couple of sets while scrounging for the Kirby Ford set that I bought this year.
