I'm down here in So. Cal., but interested in a '79 Pace Car for sale in Victoria, BC, Canada. http://79indypace.stangnet.com/forsale.htm

Anybody in the area that can scope this out for me? Just trying to reduce the unknowns and make an educated offer, if any.

If it a real pace car and in half-decent shape, it could be worth some coin, but don'r get carried away. Although I'd love to have a '79 pace car. Depending on the asking price, I'd take it!

I live about three hours and a $65.oo (each way)ferry trip from Victoria. Unfortunately I was over there last weekend, but that doesn't do you any good does it. There are some local car swap meets coming up, if he is planning on going to any maybe he could take the car and I could give you a very accurate decription of it.

Hey Steve, do you remember a VMF regular from the old forum who owned a 79 pace car? May have been "Gearhead" but I'm not sure. I met him at Roundup last year. Anyway, as I recall, he's from B.C., either the Vancouver or Victoria area. I don't recall seeing him here on the new forum, but maybe you can do a search on the old forum (Ugggh!) and dig up his E-mail address. As I recall, his79 pace car was a show stopper. He obviously knows his way around this breed of pony and may be in the right area!

Wait a minute here, you don't suppose its him selling the car your interested in do you?

Steve,
Ian Chapman has a 79 Pace Car, extremely nice, and is webmaster for the Pace Car site. It is his site where the car you are interested in is posted. I have been in email contact with Ian several times. He also lives in BC. Unfortunately, he is presently in Australia for several weeks. However, if Ian says the car is good, I'd believe him.
Maybe you can contact Bill Puck, Pace car registry coordinator, he probably knows the car too or could tell what to look for.
There is also a nice appearing 79 Pacer on ebay presently.
Good luck - I'm envious!
