How long should I warm up my car in lets say 30 degree weather. And is it bad to let it warm up to long?

Thanks John

Warm it up for a 1-2 min. You don't have to warm up a car for 5-10 min. like some
people do. Once the oil pressure is up and the motor is warm it's time to go. Just
don't floor the gas or rev the motor till it has had a few min. of run time.

Ya, it doesn't have to be that long, but I think the two most important things to do to maintain your motor is to always change the oil, and to warm it up!!

If you have to often start below or at 30, I would really consider installing an engine warmer, specially if engine is rebuilt recently or install it during next rebuild. I guess it can get somewhat cold in Nebraska. Instead of one water plug you put the warmer. It does wonders to cold starts and reduces bore wear dramatically. I use engine warmer up to 40degree F.
