I can find a lot on the 289 and have done a change on a lot of 350's
But how did the water pump swap on yours Inline six go?

The water pump is easy on the I6. It's right in the front with not much in the way around it.

The only hard part is going to be not scraping your hands all up taking the fan blade off. Taping some cardboard to the radiator would probably help with that though.

A pair of mechanics work gloves removes even that risk. I got tired of donating blood on every job years ago.

If you don't bleed a little on your project, it'll never run right. You have to make the appropriate sacrifice (plus it's not as messy as using a chicken).
