Hi,

I have a 93 5.0 engine in my 64 1/2 Stang which i just got through putting AFR 165 heads, JBA headers , and a few other goodies. When I started the engine I noticed a water leak coming from the bypass tube on the water pump. This tube is the one where the hose from the thermostat housing connects to. My question is, can I do anything to repair this or must I replace the water pump? Thanks

I have to admit that I'm not intimately familiar with the 5.0 but I assume the water pump is not that far removed from a 302.

The aluminum tube itself is leaking? I suppose you could take it off, take it to a welding shop and have it tig'd but in the end it's probably cheaper to replace the pump.

Pulled the tube out and coated with JB weld, didn't work. I guess I will be replacing a water pump tomorrow,
