Anyone have any tricks of the trade for gettiny this old water pump off my 289 engine. I have tried using large crowbars, screw drivers, and just hitting it non stop with a hammer with no luck. Anyone have a trick of the trade?

Maybe taking all the bolts out of it would help....

Get a picture of a new water pump and match every hole, and make sure the indicated one is the only one you missed.

I did the same thing! And then i put it all back together and realized I forgot to snug that same bolt down AFTER I put alternator back on!!! Had to pull it all off to access the bolt. Hhahahah

Make a note of where each bolt goes, as they are of different lengths.
