I have the 150cf tank of 75% Argon / 25% Co2, a Harbor Freight Mig Cart, and a Harbor Freight Chicago 220v 35-110Amp Mig solid/flux welder (no longer sold). I learned with this setup and though I did not use it to put all the sheetmetal on my car, I have been doing a lot of fixing what he messed up stuff with it for the past year and doubt I have used even 1/2 of the tank. I think I'm on my 3rd roll of 2lb welding wire.

Capacity is only rated at 100 lbs.

I'm sure I have no more than 125lbs on it and I have no problem, but then I do treat it like I own it. :wink:

I have a 122/48" bottle, 75/25 Argon/Co2 mix. I get the entire bottle swapped out for about $27. Finally ran out of my 1st bottle, then lost most of the gas when my gas line in the welder broke. Had to swap it out again.

I just did some reading on CO2 vs Argon/CO2. It seems that the mix will give a cleaner weld, but the straight CO2 will give a slightly hotter weld, which can allow a small machine to weld thicker material. And the Argon/CO2 mix may require a different regulator or tank adapter.

In my case, either the straight Co2 or the mix uses the same regulator, same tank. No adapters required.

My first 47" bottle was just south of $200 from airgas, the fill was around $72. Since then I found another local (Miami) small welding supply store that will swap the bottles for $27.

That looks like a 125; 7" diameter.

Depending on the chart you read, 122 -125 for the 47" - 48"

My measurement of 47" was with the cap off, so 48" it is.
