Israel for what you're doing a 40 would be perfect. I use a 40 and it lasts me quite a while. Months. I use argon/C02.

Also check into a Lincoln cart like you can get at Home Depot. Much nicer than the HF ones.

I have a 150 cf of 75% AR, 25% CO2. Just had it filled but will hardly put a dent in it for the Mustang (not all that much welding). I already had the tank and I asked my gas supplier if i could downsize to a smaller one and they said it's a lot cheaper to get the gas in a larger tank and because I already had the tank I should keep it. So my point is check the pricing on various sizes for refill.

I'm starting to get outside the "hobbyist" scale of things over the past couple of years. I have 2ea 336 argon bottles and 1ea 336 25/75 mix bottle, which are leased. I am on my 3rd bottle of argon this year, and my 2nd bottle of mix, I weld a lot, obviously, and I am quite stingy with the use of the gasses. I do weld on other items besides car parts though, and larger projects go through some consumables. I generally do not run over 25cfm on any of my welders as far as gas flow.

I'm on my 2nd 35lb spool of .035" wire and the second 11lb spool of .023" wire. The MIG(s) use less gas as they do not have a post flow like the TIG, thankfully.

I have a 125 cubic foot cylinder. I think I used about 3 cylinders of gas for my restoration which included both floor pans, both quarter panels, cowl, and every piece of sheetmetal forward of the firewall. The tank fits comfortably under my welder.

I have a Tig welder. I have a 150 cf tank. I built 6 tall bar stools from 1.25 square tubing. Very simple design, 4 columns 4 tubes as foot rails and 4 tubes to support a wooden seat. Those 6 seats burned through 95% of a tank of argon. Flow rate was set at 10 cfh. So I finished off that tank in about 2 weeks. The previous tank lasted me nearly 8 years. Because I was raising a family and had no time in the shop.

I have a 40. When I was doing a lot of welding I would go through it in about a month. Been about 18 months since the last refill though.

I like the 40 because fits in any of our cars easily to go get a refill.

I got an 80. First tank and I think it is going to last forever. Did not want anything heavier because the Lincoln 256 already seems like it is made of lead lol.

In my area they won't fill or sell you a full-sized cylinder, it must be leased for a Monthly fee. Since my usage is intermittent, I got the largest one that isn't a lease. It can be a pain to keep filling if I'm doing a ton of welding though.
