Airgas is who said they'd have no problem filling a bottle stamped with another's name on it. Just have to get it tested.

I recently used AirGas to exchange another company's bottle and pricing was fair. They seem to be all over the place too.

Tank is now on the way, thanks Gypsy R. Seems like a non standard size but gas guy says he can swap a 60cf tank out for it.

That looks like a 125; 7" diameter.

Airgas here wanted $189 for a 80cf tank (42)

the top tanks 22 to 42" are 8 inch diameter tanks

Dropped off my 125 cylinder this morning for pressure testing.

Cylinders don't actually go bad do they? I'm assuming that the stamp is just standard protocol?

Looks like testing gets them certified for 10 years. Got my welder in Saturday. I think my tank got here today, will find out shortly

Cylinders can go bad, especially an oxygen tank if it's filled with moist air, it can rust on the inside. If they are dropped and develop a crack or if the threads get buggered up. they may fail it. Tanks get a hydro static test and a visual inspection. But if you take care of them they will last a very long time. A couple of years ago, I saw a photo of a tank that had a Nazi eagle symbol stamped on it, so it had been in service since the '30's

This was a TIG tank, so hopefully argon doesn't do that, the exterior looks great,.....we'll see.

The tank was 26" to top of valve, not 29 like advertised. Also is not 8" diameter, was 7" diameter. The good news is the gas dealer I ended up using (Roberts Oxygen) said it was a 60 CF tank and he swapped it out for me and charged $25 for the gas (Airgas wanted $45 to swap a 60). So I'm happy, $100 for tank, 25 + tax for the fill, and the welder was the Eastwood 135 I picked up on cyber monday for $234 with free shipping, so I am all in for $360.
