This VMF forum is a complete JOKE! I advertised my 66 GT for sale here and had the most worthless people inquire I ever encountered. It's just goes to show that the high tech world invites low tech Yo-Yo's to waste your time! I compare this site to Yahoo! except Yahoo does have a few intelligent people. Sorry all you good hearted Mustang entusiasts, I always appreciate your insight but the riff raff needs to hit the pike in their Corvair!

Yikes!

You are deceiving yourself. The whole world is full of Yahoo's :)

Wait until you advertise in your local auto trader :)

Jeeez Carlton,

Take a Valium. It takes all kinds to make up any hobby. Some know more than others. It is not the
VMF forum's fault that you had a difficult time with an interested party. This Forum is the best on the
net BAR NONE.

Yeah these web-sites which are developed by others and offered for free are the ****s.
I'd rather go back to pinning scrap of paper on the board at the grocery store.

If you don't like our forum get out and don't come back!!!

This is, by far, the best forum on the net. If you had a bad experience on the classifieds, try listing elsewhere. Most of the folks here don't deal much with the classifieds section. It has it's own followers, mostly money grubbers.

Let me get this right. You are complaining because someone offered you $1000 for your precious GT? Just how much did you pay for your ad on this site?
Take an ad out in Hemmings and leave us alone.

You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!!!

Sorry you feel that way, I have had really good experiences with this site. I have both bought and sold mustangs and many mustang parts through this site. At least through this site most of the people have a good idea of what these things are worth. When I first tried to sell my Mach1 locally, people laughed in my face and said there was no way I would get that much, I sold it the next week to someone that read the post here, and got what I was asking. You have to try and filter out a lot of the responses, those responding with "send pics" and those immediately making ridiculously low offers, I just ignore, if the person is serious they will present good questions about what you are selling.

Just had to comment on the send pic's. I use that all the time to see if the seller thinks they have a pot of gold. Everyone has their own agenda and if the car looks bad in a picture its probably not worth investigating . I shop all the time for Falcons on another site and believe me, seller's are as bad as buyers. So we have to take all this with a grain of salt, weed out the bull artists, and cover are xxxes. Just an opinion.

Yeah, Jay....I thought he was a troll but after reading his posts, I have to agree with you...

Why he came here to codemn the idiots he encountered over in the classifieds is beyond me...

Maybe he just went off his meds or something...some of those posts sounded a little off to me....

This guy is yanking your chains. He is either:
1) Pulling a "clean air" charade similar to that pulled a couple of months ago.
2) A 14 year old high school student who is trying to sell the old Mustang dad has in the garage.
3) Lacking the companionship of a woman and has really sore palms.
Don't give this crack-smoker the satisfaction of a reply.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, I guess. You're dead wrong, though. If it weren't for these people here at vintage-mustang, I wouldn't have found the Mustang I have always wanted or learned enough to ask intelligent questions while I was shopping for one.

If you think you've met bad buyers here, just wait until you advertise elsewhere. Now, that's a Joke.

Carlton - You've just proven yourself to be one of the biggest *******s I've ever had the displeasure to come across regarding mustangs.
BTW VMFers, Carlton is the prince of a guy who went nuts on me and told me to not "bother making an offer" on his coupe after I asked for a price and was told "offers will be considered." Perhaps you read my post from earlier this week....
As I told you Carlton (and the rest of the VMF for that matter), I only asked you relevant questions about your car, and tried to do so in a respectful and friendly matter. How you took that for someone that was only looking to "waste your time," I'll never know. (can you spell Prozac??)
And now you are back, spreading your ill-humor around the new forum. Let me tell you this - you may have an absurdly high regard for yourself, your knowledge of mustangs (as well as Porches for that matter), and the supposed GT you are trying to sell.
If you think that any person with half a brain who has any experience with mustangs would simply agree to buy your car after a few cursory questions you are mistaken. With your extensive knowledge of mustangs you surely know that body style, options, and condition all contribute to the car's relative value. If you had not been so busy trying to extract your head from your ass perhaps you would have been more receptive to those who had genuine interest in possibly purchasing your car.
As far as your quote that "I've been around mustangs and Porches all of my life and am more than capable of determining value." I think you overestimate your knowledge. Addionally, dismissing the collective knowledge of this Forum is ridiculous. Regular contributors include editors of national mustang magazines, MCA Gold judges, and more capable wrenchers and restorers with first-hand knowledge than you'll ever hope to have.
Again, IMHO you are a jerk in the first degree. Without comparison the people on the VMF and in the mustang hobby are some of the finest people around. If you can't fit in here, it's you PAL who must be a social misfit and YOU are the cause of your problems.
I suggest that you sell that coupe ASAP, and retreat to Porche-land, where your sort of childish behavior and nasty demeanor may be more welcome. I don't think you'll be missed around here. Dickson
