You're looking at the underside of my dash, driver's side. What are these holes? Are they in all dashes? Remains of removed options (dealer installed or otherwise)? I've found evidence of other removed, dealer installed options elsewhere on the car....

Apologies for the blurriness... it's hard to get the digital camera to focus that close.

I checked four of my cars(one 65 and three 66s) and all of them had them. I have never seen anything mounted in that location. The bracket by the kick panel is for mounting the manual choke on cars without the automatic choke on the carbs. The fog light and power top switch are located farther up on the dash.

They could be locator holes for the pre-robotic assembly lines (welding, bolting). We use similar locator holes for jig fixturing before welding.

Thanks everyone for checking! You find strange things sometimes when you're working on your car.

I thought at least one was for the foglight switch although I could be wrong.

Convertibles have the inside lights mounted under the dash too although not in those particular holes.

My car has 'em too. I just figured they were for stuff my car doesn't have.
