Just curious, for a '67 289 C code. What was actually spec'd out by Ford? a straight 30 wt or what ? It seems I read on here some guys like to run a 40 wt.

Straight 30 weight was the most popular oil back then. The multi viscosity weight oils came into vogue in the early 70's.

A similar discussion came up a little while back. I posted what Ford recommended in the old Ford manual I have that was used by dealership mechanics back in the day. Link to topic.
